Vancouver, B.C. - With the release of MJ's Documentary, The Last Dance, now airing in Canada on Netflix, athletes from The Vancouver Metro Basketball League™ took some time with us to share some of their favourite MJ moments, quotes and of course, kicks.

Studying The Dance | Ep. 03

Featuring Omid Toussi

Omid, first off thank you very much for taking the time to talk with us about MJ. We're sure you are enjoying the Last Dance documentary as much as we are.

Favourite MJ Moment

Q: Some of the players we have interviewed, including your teammate Kevin Anza, have their own favourite moments from MJ. From 'The Shot' against the Cavs in 89, to 'The Last Shot' against the Jazz to win his 6th NBA Championship. But you have a different moment that you hold as your favourite MJ moment. Tell us about it:

A: Definitely - It was when MJ won his 4th championship against the SuperSonics on Father’s Day. This was 3 years after his dad was murdered, which led to his decision of playing baseball. Jordan came back from retirement and led the Bulls to their 4th championship. It was the first one since his return, and in my opinion, the most unguarded, purely emotional moments of Jordan's entire career, maybe even perhaps in all of NBA history. The way Jordan was prone on the floor, weeping openly while holding the game ball in a similar fashion he did when winning his first championship, only his dad wasn't there to embrace him.

R: Couldn't agree more. That moment is hands down, one of the most emotional moments in NBA history. His attitude that entire series actually leads us to your favourite MJ Quote.

Favourite MJ Quote

Q: MJ inspired generations. Even till this day we are learning more about his mentality and high level of motivation. Growing up, what quote resonated with you from MJ?

A: "Sometimes you need to get hit in the head to realize that you're in a fight."

Favourite Pair of Js

Q: Now of course, we have to ask you about your favourite pair of Js. To this day, what are your favourite pair of Js?

A: Air Jordan Retro VI - Olympic

Thank you so much Omid for taking the time with us to talk about MJ. We'll be sure to follow up with you about your thoughts of episodes 3 and 4, airing now on Netflix.
